I have a very exciting announcement today! My little brother Tim and his wife Jessica had their baby girl! I am so so so excited to meet her and just breathe in that newborn smell and nuzzle her soft little head! I’m basically NOT a baby person when it comes to everyone else’s babies but if you are my family….watch out….that baby will be cuddled so good! Everything went well with the delivery and both mama and baby are safe at home! As soon as I get some good photos I will definitely share!
Speaking of photos, I am finally getting around to sharing the maternity photos I took of the new parents and they are so fun. Jessica wanted TREES and BLACK & WHITE pictures – that was her two requests and I dragged them out to our woods one evening to take the photos with our neighbors giant trees. I LOVE the fact that we edited these in two very different styles…black and white and then also with this cross-processed color that just feels warm and emotional and glowy…that describes a pregnancy to me! haha!
And a huge CONGRATS to my little brother and sister in law! You guys will do awesome!
That one above is my favorite. I told them to do whatever they would do if Tim came home from work 🙂
Her glow is RIDICULOUS.
another one of my favorites because it is just so descriptive of pregnancy….
an example of how different editing can completely change the feel and focus of a photo….
Both Jessica and I loved this one….with the tattoos and the colors….
And of course there were bloopers 🙂
So fun right?! Tell me which one is your favorite!!!

The bloopers are the best! Of course, would be your brother cheesing the shots 🙂
But really, the color shot of him kissing her forehead near the end has got to be the best photo ever. Excellent work, Katie!!

Very cute! Maternity photos are the thing that you don’t always want to do in the moment (well after the first baby at least) but then are so glad you had them taken! You did a great job Katie!

I like the black and white one of them sitting on the stump.

The one with your brother kissing her forehead by the tree is my favorite. I love that the focus is on them as a couple, even though it is clearly a maternity shot too. You really captured their relationship in these photos. 🙂

Amazing job! She has such lovely, unique eyes!
I love maternity photos. They are all nice and each captures that love and excitement that comes with a coming baby.
My favorite artistic shot is the one where the tree is in focus in foreground and its almost as if you accidentally captured two people that are privately sharing a tender moment. Like a tiny glimpse into someone’s story.
Glad their baby arrived safely.

My favorite is the black and white towards the end where her back is against the tree. I think it shows how their personal relationship continues in a special way even while being subsumed by the mother-father-baby dynamic.
Quick (but personal) question that you (or your brother) should feel free to ignore: why the single tat sleeve? I am fascinated by tattoos, being a spouse in the military I see them daily, but I’m not certain I’ve ever seen a single “sleeve”. I love to hear the history behind tattoos, especially ones that show sthat me obviously meaning.

These are great pictures! I love the one towards the end when your brother is kissing her forehead. I’m such a sucker for a forehead kiss! Glad the baby has arrived safely and all are doing well.

So fun. I absolutely love the black and white against the tree(after the tattoo/color shot you mentioned.) It’s so beautiful. Thank you for capturing this special time for them. 🙂

Fav – the one where she is leaning up against the tree ~ and your brother kissing her on the forehead.
🙂
Katie says
His entire back is almost done with various ones (names and a cross and an angel) and then he wanted the one sleeve with motorcycle parts (that is his passion!) but it’s not unusual here to get the single sleeve. Must be one of those southern things!

These are all so awesome! As much as I love a good maternity shoot, I’d love for you to do a shoot of just your brother’s sleeve. I’m always fascinated with tattoo sleeves. I’d never get one personally, but when they are done so uniquely like that, I love looking close at them and seeing all the fine details. Very cool!

I totally agree, that forehead kiss photo is my favorite.

Great pictures, Katie!
P.S. You might want to check your grammar in your heading. 🙂
